Dr. Matthew B. Thompson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Spring Hill College in 2000. Following assignments as an Army officer in Military Intelligence, Dr. Thompson was accepted to the Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2007. He graduated from the US Army's Endodontic Residency at Ft. Gordon in 2013 and joined Endodontic Specialists in 2016. Dr. Thompson earned his Board Certification in 2019 and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE)*. While in dental school, Dr. Thompson volunteered in the Dallas Big Brother Program, provided pro bono dental care to the local community earning the Annual Dental Student Award for Service, and served as class president.
Dr. Thompson loves mentoring general dentists interested in the field of endodontics and has given numerous lectures and presentations. He is published in both The Journal of the American Dental Association and The Journal of Endodontics.
Dr. Thompson is currently serving in the Colorado National Guard. He is devoted to his wife, Alicia, and son, Caleb. He enjoys outdoor activities, playing the piano, participating in church events, and hanging out with his two miniature schnauzers.
