Types Of Dental Floss & How To Choose The Right One For You
Like most products, the right dental floss for your and your family will depend mostly on your personal needs and preference. Dental floss is available in a wide array of textures and flavors, but the function of each is the same. As long as you’re flossing those vulnerable spots between your teeth, it doesn’t matter which type of dental floss you use.
Types Of Dental Floss
Below are a few different types of dental floss and the function of each:
Flossers - Dental Flossers are small plastic instruments that hold a piece of floss in place on one end and have a small toothpick on the other end. Flossers are great for small children who may struggle with long strings of floss and for those who suffer from arthritis and can’t get their wrists to the right angles when flossing with traditional dental floss.
Flavors - The main function of flavored dental floss is that it freshens your breath at the same time you floss. Flavored floss can also mask the bacterial odor that sometimes accompanies flossing your teeth.
Gentle Ease - For those with more sensitive gums, flossing can be painful and unpleasant. Luckily, many companies now make floss with a special coating that makes it much more gentle on sensitive gums.
